Stepping Out Of Your Comfort Zone!

Happy Monday Beautiful People! I hope you guys had a great weekend. I had such a fab weekend…started the weekend off having dinner and girl chat…lots of laughter with one of my “nieces” and on Sunday, went to church with one of my closet friends and we had brunch afterwards…it’s so nice spending time with great friends and family….and I so love going to my church y’all…just being in the God’s house gives me such an inner peace and hearing the word and being in fellowship with everyone is so much needed to get me ready for a new week!

I’ll be the first to admit there are certain things in my life that are true places of “comfort zones”. Yes, and if we be honest with ourselves, I’m sure we all are guilty of this. I’m not speaking on anything huge, something really simple that we may not even recognize. Well, let me share what happened to me over the weekend which led me to the topic for this post….so, for those who know me, I’m at Whole Foods at least 4 -5 times at week. I can honestly say that there are quite a few staff who know me and in the seafood department, they already know what I’m going to get so when they see me coming up to the counter, they have it ready. Yes, it’s great customer service and it’s great to know that folks truly care about you. Well, on Saturday morning, I didn’t feel like driving to Whole Foods so I opted to go to Kroger, which is literally five minutes from my house…..I rarely go to this store so when I do, I don’t know anyone who works there, I don’t know where anything is in the store (I actually have to read the signage above the aisles).

So, while I was walking around the store trying to find the items I needed my phone rang and it was one of the girls….She said, “What cha doing”. I said, “I’m at the grocery store”. She said, “Oh, you’ll at Whole Foods”. I said, “No, I’m at Kroger”. There was a moment of silence and she said, “Really, I didn’t know you shopped at Kroger”.

When I got off the phone with her, I truly had to say to myself, Janie, why don’t you go Kroger and yes Janie, you need to change up your routine on a few things….God may have some blessings for me at places where I don’t go…so I share this to say, let’s get out of comfort zones and try some new things…it doesn’t have to be anything major…but just think about a few of the things that you do that are so routine and you may not even realize it.

Beautiful People, I encourage you and I’m also encouraging myself to step out of our routine and to try something new….I think I’ll take dance lessons next…Salsa dance lessons…I think it will be fun and it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do. What are some things that you would like to do but maybe you are a little scared to try because it will take you out of your comfort zone?
